It's a natural thing

I apologize for not writing earlier but after being sick, and Ashlee arriving, I have just been exhausted. But things are begining to fall into place here and I have to admit that I am once again feeling so extremely blessed. I was getting a little worried last week when I only had 4 hours of classes and my institute had not given me news of any more classes. I began to doubt that I would have enough hours of work. But by Thursday my schedule went up to 8 1/2 hours and by friday it was up to 10 1/2. And today, as Ashlee and I had lunch with the managers of the institute, I saw that by monday I will most likely have 20 1/2 hours which is exactly how many hours I want. So once again, I lived out the story. God tells me to trust Him. i worry anyways and doubt His provision. He comes through and provides regardless of my lack of faith. Really it is a beautiful circle we do.
So Ashlee came on friday and I was still getting over my cold so we both just slept alot. We had an interesting time on one of the mircos (the buses), but you have to ask for that story, because it is a long one. And really we have just been hanging out. We went downstairs with Sebastian last night to get some ice cream (the national Chilean food) and as we three sat on a bench and ate our ice cream, I made the comment to Ashlee that it just seemed so natural that she was there with me. It wasn't wierd at all that my friend from Cal Poly was sitting with me on a bench in downtown Santiago Chile. It just seemed natural. She and Sebastian are getting along great, which is so exciting for me to see. We are looking for a different apartment for just the three of us and we dreamed as we ate ice cream on the bench about where we wanted to live. We decided not to talk about it in front of other people. And we were suddenly laughing at ourselves because it felt like we were 8 year olds making a secret club. One of those funny moments that just led to giggling.
Anyways, I am going to go now. I can feel my schedule filling up and I need to organize my life for the week. Some of the things I will be looking foward to:
-the women's bible study I was going to in december is starting back up again after summer vacations
-I am meeting about 6 new clients of mine tomorrow for our first classes together
-I have an idea for a dinner party once a week that I am going to start up this week
-There is a worship night for the youth of Santiago (like 10 different churches on sat) that I went to in December and had a blast.
- Ashlee is here with me ALL week! And that is the biggest blessing!

May God bless you this week with a deeper knowledge of His Love for you.

a good sign

I live near a long thin park called Parque Forestal. It's really quite a nice park and it has a long stretch of a lane for riding bikes or jogging. And since I have a fear of riding bikes in this city, I jog. It's really pleasent. I usually listen to radioDisney on my mp3 player and jog along to Jonas Brothers, Beyonce, or Julieta Venegas. Great stuff. Yesterday on my jog I noticed that the trees were beginning to change. Fall has finally arrived and I am glad for the change. But as I was jogging through the falling leaves, I began to think about how much I like fall. And I had this special moment when I realized that I want to be here in Santiago, jogging through this park for many falls to come. After the past few weeks of cultural adjustment being a little more painful than normal, this was a nice thought to have.

la musica de chile

For a moment I would liek to ponder the music of Chile. You see, I listen to just about everything (except non-live jazz). Even country, although in this category I limit myself to Dixie Chicks and The Judds (only the old stuff). Here in Chile there is really only a few types of music. One, the corny romantic music that belongs on programs like "Delilah at night". Being the hopeless romantic that I am, I love this type of music. Another type of music is Reggaton (not sure about the spelling, but do I ever spell words correctly?). This is Latin America´s response to Hip Hop. Very good for dancing. I also love the fact that most Reggaton is in Spanglish, my favorite language. There is this other type of music that I like to call the "Corny Electric Piano Musica". Too corny for me and I can only take so much electric piano in one song. I am amazed at how much Englsih music is played here. And people sing to it. they actually know the words, but they have no clue what t

murderous thoughts for cats

I got home from work today, exhausted, only to face the horrible whining of the neighborhood cats outside my window. They used to be really loud, and then in the cold of the winter they disappeared. But now they seem to have returned in full force. I sure hope I can sleep tonight!
